The Eiteljorg Museum is dedicated to Western and Indian Art, is located in a naturalized native Indiana garden setting, in the middle of the city. The museum provides live celebrations and ceremonies, and incredible festival events. They not only have a gift shop full of Native American items, but a fine selection of books dedicated to expanding the overall knowledge every visitor should gain. When I need from the world, I visit the Eiteljorg. From the moment I enter the grounds, walk along the covered entrance and enter the doors, a sense of peace envelopes me. The quiet music, the flowing wall of water, the Morning Singer who greets the day, all erase the world outside. This place is not just a museum, not just a place to house paintings and sculptures and artifacts.. In my humble opinion, if you allow it, this place heals and calms the ailments our scheduled, wired world creates. The art is as traditional as it is provocative, as ancient as it is modern, as distinctive by tribe and region as it is inclusive to all Nations. If you haven't visited, please do set aside a few hours and discover one of the finest experiences in our city. If you visit once, it will call to you to return.
