After working at various restaurants and country clubs in the city, A. Rene Trevino got tired of working for other people making only certain types of desserts. He wanted to provide stellar European-style breads and pastries at a price and in a way that everyone could enjoy. With a deep breath, A. Rene Trevino opened Rene's Bakery, Inc on March 12, 2004. With a small staff (of ONE!), the bakery started with a handful of products to sell. Over time, Rene has added staff and product. Now, in its second year, Rene's Bakery, Inc boasts eight full- and part-time employees with a rather large sampling of breads / pastries, given the size of the bakery. Future hopes for Rene's Bakery, Inc include expanding the bakery to offer seating and an even greater variety of breads and pastries – maybe even quiche, sandwiches and soups, too!
I lived in France for 6 months, and this is by far the closest thing to a French patisserie that you can get!!!

I am in charge of birthdays in my office, and Rene's are the only cakes that make everyone happy. I have been going here for three years, at least once every two months, and I have not gotten even an average cake yet. Everything here is fabulous!
